Pimeria Alta is an accommodation school for grades 5-12 in Nogales, Arizona. A “campus style” plan is desired that creates common outdoor courtyard spaces for student interaction and activities for students who require special accommodations. The building will also be used for community activities by the general public after school hours. It’s located in a new city park that links three underserved neighborhoods. This project involves a school for high school and middle school students that promotes the idea of lighted areas and thinking beyond the box. The plan is for an open and inviting environment yet contained. The idea was not to build an institution but a comfortable landscape of learning. Construction documents are finalized.
